DALLAS–FORT WORTH / COMING IN 2027

A private space for every kind of dog

Searching for a Dallas dog kennel can be frustrating when the first questions are whether your dog will play with unfamiliar dogs, accept immediate handling by strangers, or meet a spay/neuter cutoff. A group-care model is only one way to provide boarding.

We are developing our Dallas–Fort Worth expansion for owners who want individual accommodations and care that respects the dog in front of us. That includes easygoing family companions as well as dogs who are reactive, fearful, intact, or aggressive toward people or other dogs.

Aggressive & Reactive Dog Boarding

Our Austin facility uses physical separation and contact-free care so a dog does not need to befriend unfamiliar handlers to receive daily care. That experience shapes the model we are bringing to DFW.

Private Boarding for Friendly Dogs, Too

A friendly dog can still benefit from personal space, rest, and individual care. We do not facilitate or recommend group play during boarding. Being sociable should not mean having to manage a room full of unfamiliar dogs.

Built on our Austin experience

Luxury dog boarding suite with private outdoor patio at Traction K9 Kennels

Designed by trainers. Informed by zoo keeping.

Traction K9 Kennels was designed and is managed by trainers from Traction Dog Training Club, starting with a pilot facility opened in Austin, TX in 2024. Our background includes family dogs, protection and working dogs, exotic animal training, and veterinary hospital management.

Zoo keeping experience informs our approach to planned separation, access, physical barriers, and care that does not depend on direct contact. At our existing kennel, dogs can be on their private patio while their indoor suite is cleaned, and vice versa.

The DFW expansion builds on this experience. Final facility specifications and daily operations will be shared as the opening approaches.

A Closer Look at the Traction Approach

Our existing Austin suites have private indoor space, outdoor patios, solid dividers, and connecting dog doors. The tour shows how that design supports dogs with different temperaments.

Daily report cards at our current kennel always include a photo, behavior report, feeding report, stool report, and anything else of note. We believe owners should know the everyday details, not just receive a generic “doing great.”

Coming to the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex

We are building an opening list for dog owners across Dallas–Fort Worth, including people comparing options from Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Irving, Plano, and Frisco. Once the location is announced, you can judge the journey from your home and whether it works for your travel routine.

We have not announced the exact DFW street address at this time. Join the list to receive future location details and updates, as well as $250 in boarding credits!

If you are new to boarding, our boarding comparison guide explains the differences between group-play facilities, private accommodations, home sitters, and other care options. Our boarding FAQs describe the existing Austin service; DFW-specific requirements will follow before opening.

Yes. Bringing our private, contact-free boarding approach to dogs of all temperaments is central to the expansion. Our existing Austin model accommodates human-aggressive, dog-aggressive, reactive, fearful, working, and friendly dogs. Final DFW operating details will be announced before reservations open.

Welcoming intact dogs is part of the approach we are bringing to DFW. At our existing kennel, spaying or neutering is not a prerequisite. DFW booking requirements will be published before opening.

We do not facilitate or recommend group play during boarding. The DFW expansion is being developed around our private-care philosophy, rather than requiring dogs to socialize with unfamiliar boarding guests.
