Your First Boarding Stay: A Step-by-Step Guide
Before your first overnight stay
Your first boarding reservation should be straightforward. Here is the process at Traction K9 Kennels in Del Valle, serving Austin dog owners who want private indoor/outdoor accommodations.
1 / Reserve and confirm
Request your dates through the booking portal. Submit current vaccination records and the 50% deposit to confirm. Enter feeding, medication, and emergency-contact details.
2 / Choose the right interaction setting
Select Do not enter – aggressive, Interaction is OK but exercise caution, or Friendly. Friendly means zero concerns about aggression toward humans. Select the option in the profile instead of sending a separate behavior history. No temperament evaluation is required.
3 / Arrive and settle in
Drop off between noon and 3:45 PM, any day of the week. You personally take your dog to their suite. Bring food and necessary medications; a clean bed is provided. Use the packing checklist.
4 / Know what happens during the stay
Each dog has a private indoor suite and outdoor patio connected by a dog door. We do not facilitate or recommend group play during boarding. If your dog needs help with the dog door, we prop it open.
Daily report cards include a photo, behavior, feeding, stool, and anything else of note. Call or text (512) 596-0555; staff return missed calls as soon as they can.
5 / Plan pickup
Pickup is 8:15 AM to noon, seven days a week. You collect your dog from their suite and pay the remaining balance. Early drop-off and late pickup are $65 each by advance arrangement, subject to availability.
